Erdi is the new Turkish barber on the high street aiming to offer a ‘cut above’ the rest

A new Turkish barber has opened up a high street offering ‘something different’ for the young men of the town.

Style Street Barbers opened last week and has seen a steady stream of customers coming for authentic Turkish cuts by Erdi Gundogdu.

Erdi came to Forres five months ago and with the help of his friend Hakan Acer, who is a partner in the nearby Pizza Pan business, set up the business which he believes offers a trendy, funky alternative to other barbers in the town, and said men sometimes want ‘more than a haircut’ for special events like weddings.

Hakan recently bought the premises at 44 High Street, and rented it out to Gallery Pop for a year. Now he has helped Erdi set up in business as Style Street Barbers, installing genuine Turkish fittings and redecorating the premises with a glitzy Turkish look.

Erdi said (through a translator): “The market for hair styling for men has changed in the last 15 years. Young men want something funky and different. What we offer will fill a niche.

“We’ll be offering facial steaming, ear waxing, nose waxing, hair washing and styling, and much more than just a haircut.”

  1. Hello, I am Finley Murray, a pupil at Culloden Academy. I am extremely disappointed in your barbering ability. Erdi you have made me look like an idiot. I feel embarrassed to walk to class without somebody laughing at my horrible haircut. The service was awful…
I felt constantly uncomfortable. The blood coming off my scalp after you tortured me in that chair.
