Why no Facebook page?
When we created Moray Events, our aim was to create a simple, one-stop shop for events across Moray. We list them all, by category and by date. There are already Facebook pages that have details of events, but we believe another one would have made this space more complex rather than simpler.
We repeatedly see people missing events because they ‘don’t have Facebook’ or the algorithm hasn’t shown it to everyone.
We made the conscious decision not to have a Facebook page for this site, alternatively using our existing, popular news and portal sites to advertise events where appropriate. We don’t believe competing with other Facebook pages provides a service, but a single central resource with no algorithm and free listings gives event organisers and event-goers the best service.
Our existing Facebook pages reach more than 100,000 people a month, and our websites are viewed more than 200,000 times a year, and as such we provide one of the best advertising and marketing platforms in the region.
