A popular bar in Forres has been named the best in the north after a customer nominated it for the Scotland Bar and Brew Awards.
The Mosset Tavern walked away with the ‘Best Pub in the North of Scotland’ category at a glitzy ceremony in the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow, beating other well-known pubs in the north.
Owner Gordon Brailsford said he was sceptical at first when the organisers contacted him to say the tavern had been nominated by a guest.
He said: “The organisers said they had been to the Mosset and sampled our hospitality and had been shortlisted as a result.
“We listen to our guests and never take them for granted, and we continually strive to give them a good experience every single day.
“We’re very much a team here, and notably it’s that team effort that features in many of our reviews.”
Also shortlisted were the Kimberley Inn in Findhorn, the Castle Tavern and Waterfront in Inverness, and Ma Cameron’s in Aberdeen.
The awards were handed out at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel in a glitzy ceremony.
Gordon said: “It was like the Oscars, just like you see on TV. It was a real red carpet event.”
