Seven-year-old Gemma Curran from Forres switched on the Christmas lights at 5pm today after being chosen from a group of children dressed up to win the chance to flick the switch.

Gemma, who dressed as a Christmas present, complete with tinsel ribbons and bows was picked by Santa after the group were led from the Town Hall by the Forres and District Pipe Band.
