Pupils at Forres Academy have been told to isolate after an S4 pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
The news came in an email sent to affected parents today (Sunday) which stated: “Your child has been identified as having close contact with the case at a time when they were likely infectious. In line with the national guidance, your child is required to isolate at home with immediate effect until and including the 12 November 2020.”
The communication from Head Teacher Jan Sinclair added: “I want to reassure parents and carers that there is no evidence of transmission of COVID-19 within the school and that the school has good control measures in place. All other classes will continue to attend school as normal due to the effectiveness of control measures in place.
Forres Academy also posted a message to its Facebook page: “This afternoon important letters have been emailed to parents. If you did not receive these please call the school office after 8am tomorrow. Pupils should remember to follow all the health and safety guidance in the school and the community. Please be vigilant over any symptoms of Covid 19 – high temperature, cough, loss or change to taste/smell. Any pupil with symptoms, no matter how mild, should not attend school and NHS guidance should be followed. Thank you.”
Schoolwork will be made available to isolating students remotely.
