Hot on the heels of being named the most beautiful medium-sized town in Scotland, Forres has picked up an award for its well-kept war memorial.
Almost 100 landmarks were nominated in Legion Scotland’s annual awards, where Forres won the large community category for its memorial which features a highland soldier, surrounded by a well-kept floral garden.
Just last week, Forres in Bloom, which also helps tend the memorial gardens, won two trophies and a medal for its beautiful floral displays all around the town.
The volunteer group won a trophy and a gold medal in the medium-sized town category and a trophy for sustainability.
