Old tackle shop could be turned into child-friendly cafe

A new child-friendly cafe could open soon in Forres town centre, if planning permission is approved.

Anna Kanafek has applied for a change of use at 97d High Street to a cafe. She said in her application that she ‘would like to change the old tackle shop based in Forres into small child-friendly café, where parents can enjoy a cuppa with a piece of cake while their children are playing in a safe environment.

The premises have an office space which I would like to change into small kitchen.’

She added that doesn’t intend to do much cooking. There will be no deep fryer, and she will mainly serve soup, hot drinks, sandwiches and paninis.

The tackle shop ceased trading recently due to retirement.
