Mobile Covid-19 testing unit re-opens in Moray following Aberdeen outbreak

A mobile Covid-19 testing unit has been re-established in Moray as a precautionary measure following the Covid-19 outbreak ‘cluster’ in Aberdeen.

Based at Lossie Green in Elgin, it is one of four test sites that have been setup throughout the NHS Grampian area as the number of confirmed cases in Aberdeen rose to 79 (yesterday) Friday.

Areas of the car park will be sealed off to enable safe passage through the testing area, and drivers are asked to observe the parking restrictions as a result of reduced spaces being available.

As was the case last time the testing unit was operating in Elgin, it is operated by UK military personnel.

A spokesperson for the council said: “It is related to the Aberdeen outbreak as we are part of Grampian Health Board area, but is a precautionary measure as far as Moray residents are concerned.”

If you develop the symptoms of COVID-19, you should self-isolate and arrange a test via the NHS Inform website (or the staff testing service if you work in health and social care).
