Dallas Buffalo farmers feature in BBC TV series This Farming Life

A young family who farm a herd of buffalo near Forres will feature in the next series of This Farming Life, starting next week.

Ollie and Nikki Lake run Thorabella Farm in the hills outside Dallas, and as well as buffalo, have goats, pigs, Highland cattle, rabbits, chickens and wallabies!

The pair sell their meat products and eggs locally and have a farm shop at the foot of their drive. They are also playing their part in developing an agritourism business by building straw bale huts for tourists and visiting students.

The first of 12 episodes will air on BBC Scotland at 8pm on Monday 28 August (repeated on Tuesday 29 August at 8pm on BBC2)

Forres Local visited the farm earlier in the year and spoke to Ollie about life on the farm and why they chose to farm buffalo.
