Army surplus store moves into bigger premises on Forres High Street

A popular clothing store has moved two doors down the high street after literally running out of space.

Highland Army Surplus, run by Karen and Aidy Eastham, has moved from 114 to 110 High Street just two shops along from where it has been for the last 11 years.

Karen said: “I literally ran out of space. I had stock stored in the basement, but that meant I couldn’t have everything put on display.”

Karen explained that they’ve also made a change to the name to indicate they’re not restricted to army surplus.

“All our army surplus is grade 1, which means it hasn’t been worn or it’s as good as new. We’re now Highland Army Surplus and Outdoors, as we now stock a large range of new outdoor clothing, camping and bushcraft supplies.

Karen explained that her prices are very competitive on new stock, compared to other outdoor retailers. And in some cases, she has high-quality alternatives that are significantly cheaper.
