Forres tailor Alberto Ricci has temporarily vacated his high street property to make way for a new unisex clothes shop that will give Forres shoppers a sixth fashion option.
Alberto, who started his bespoke tailoring business at 132 High Street in 2021, expanded to the shop formerly known as Younie’s in 2022, and has now moved to premises in Kinloss to make space for clothing.
Alberto says: “It will be a shop for men and women, not high end, not low end, but somewhere in the middle, and it will be high quality.” As a tailor he aims to make some of the garments himself, but to begin with he will buy stock to fill the shop.
His alterations service will continue in the former kitchen showroom at Clocktower Buildings in Kinloss, beside the filling station.
Customers will be able to drop off their clothes for alterations at the Forres shop if they can’t get to Kinloss.
Alberto sums up the fashion scene in the Forres area: “I count six outlets that will sell clothes, not counting charity shops. Forres could become a fashion hotspot.”
We counted them too.
- Roseberry Studios
- Babalu
- Generations Clothing
- MacKenzie of Forres
- Timeless at Logie Steading
- Country Man at Logie Steading
And there’s a new clothes shop opening soon at 114 High Street, and we’ll have details on that soon.
People have been asking if Alberto Ricci has closed. It hasn’t. Alterations have moved to Clocktower Kinloss, and the high street shop will re-open soon with, if you’ll pardon the pun, a slight alteration to the name.
The new shop will be called Alberto Ricci Elegant.
