Seven-day Covid case rate in Moray drops below number required for Level 2

Moray cases of Covid-19 have dropped dramatically below the threshold required to go into Level 2.

Today, there were no new cases reported in Moray while across the rest of Scotland, there were 432.

Richard Lochhead said: “The seven-day positivity rate (up to 17 May) in Moray dropped again and is now sitting at 36.5 per 100,000 population, and the test positivity rate has reduced to 1.3%.”

The threshold for moving into Level 2 is below 50.

“Things are looking like they’re moving in the right direction and locally we’re in a much better place than we were last week. Let’s stick at it and hopefully we’ll be following other parts of the country into level 2 very soon,” he said.
