Pam says kids without gifts at Christmas just breaks her heart as she continues campaign

A Forres woman is once again spearheading a campaign to bring the joy and magic of Christmas to children throughout the area.

Pamela Nicol Brown, well-known to many for her unstinting work in collecting gifts for children who might not otherwise get one, has launched her 2024 ‘Just a Thought’ campaign supporting MFR Cash for Kids Mission Christmas.

She said: “The thought of a child without a parcel to open on Christmas day breaks my heart and we can make a huge difference by pulling together and sharing the love, joy and magic that Christmas brings which they may not experience without this amazing organisation Cash 4 Kids.”

Pam has raised a massive £147,000 in her five years of fundraising, with £50,000 in last year’s campaign alone, demonstrating the generosity of local people. Pam not only collects cash, but also presents.

Money is raised through various events and fundraising and also donations and gifts which can be left at collection points throughout the area, including Pam’s workplace in Forres High Street.

They are then sorted at Cash 4 Kids HQ

She added: “Last year, there were over 4,000 applications for who we supported and provided a gift for them to unwrap on Christmas morning. They are gifted £50 worth of gifts per child.

“Applications come in from organisations and service providers, Teachers, social workers, GO’s  etc who recognise the children (0-18) that are in need.”

“Gifts are then collected by the service providers who then distribute it to their families.

In Forres, gifts or cash can be dropped off at Grampian Property Centre on the High Street.
