A popular cafe will open its doors on Christmas Day for a second year.
K’s Coffee Shop on Falconer Avenue at Knockomie will be serving soup, sandwiches, cakes, sponges and drinks to bring festive cheer to all on 25 December from 11am till 3pm.
Owners Stephanie Wallace and Sue Farish, who are sisters-in-law, have decided to repeat their kind gesture after a successful festive opening last year.
Steph said: “We just want to make sure no-one is lonely at this time of year, or even if people are working and just need a place to go and get a bite and socialise. Christmas can be a sad time if they’ve lost family.
“It’s for anyone to come along and enjoy, and we mean anyone.”
Sue added: “People have offered to donate cakes. There will be music and songs from our baristas Zac and Caleb. They’ll perform a medley of popular Christmas songs. It’s all free, the only thing we ask is that you pay for a hot drink if you have one. And these can be taken away if people just want to pop in and get a coffee or tea.
“This is our second Christmas in the cafe, and we’d like to think we’ll be able to do this every year from now on,” she added.
K’s Coffee Shop is open on Christmas Day from 11am till 3pm. All welcome.
