New Visit Forres website to focus on promoting local area as lockdown eases

A new tourism and leisure site dedicated to the Forres area will be launched in May as an extension of our very popular online platform.

Forres Local has always been the go-to site for all things related to the local area, and that includes leisure and tourism information. It is the highest-ranked local site for ‘Forres’ when searching in Google, and it is listed on Wikipedia as the official site for the town.

Marc Hindley, who is a director with parent company Moray Media CIC said: “Over the years, we’ve worked with Visit Scotland, Moray Speyside and local groups to develop our destination content, and this is only going to get better.

“When lockdown hit this time last year, we were already preparing to separate this content into a separate site, and we put it on hold (as well as some other projects) to focus on the fallout of the pandemic.

“We don’t want to wait any longer. As lockdown eases, we’ve picked up where we left off and now we’re getting ready to launch as Scotland comes out of lockdown to make it easier for people to find information about things to see and do in Forres, where to eat, drink and stay, and generally shout about what a great place the area is to visit, while adhering to guidelines obviously.”
