First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has today released an update on the coronavirus restrictions. She confirmed that we are not yet in a position to be able to move into phase 4 of the route map out of lockdown, and we remain in phase 3.
Some changes have been confirmed though and these are as follows:
From Monday 24 August:
- Organised outdoor contact sports for all ages can resume
- Driving lessons can restart – following guidance
- Child contact centres can reopen
- Face to face advice services can resume
- Bingo halls can reopen
- Funfairs, amusement arcades and casinos can reopen
- Snooker, pool halls and indoor bowling can reopenConfirmed from Monday 31st August:
- Gyms can reopen – following guidance
- Swimming pools can reopen
- Indoor sports courts, including skating and dance studios, can reopen subject to guidance – all activities for children under 12 and non-contact only for adults
Indicative date: Monday 14 September:
- Indoor soft play following guidance – no ball pools
- Indoor sports courts for contact sports
- Indoor entertainment venues including theatres, music venues
- Limited reopening of stadiums
Awaiting further review:
- Non essential offices and call centres – working from home should remain the default
