A Forres- mum-of-two has pledged to interrupt her family Christmas to help those feeling loneliness at this time of year.
Kathleen Roberston got the idea from a breakfast TV show about people on their own where Christmas can be a long day.
She said it struck a chord with her and immediately wanted to do something. She posted on the Everyday Forres Facebook group, and the responses were encouraging with everyone saying what a kind and thoughtful thing to do.
She is now setting up a virtual event on Zoom to take people in to share in her family event.
Kathleen, a self-employed veterinary surgeon, will spend Christmas with just her husband and two teenage sons, and whoever logs on to join her.
She said: “Our Christmas Day is now a dog walk in the morning followed by a Christmas brunch then Christmas Dinner later in the day.
“Early afternoon seemed a good time to fit into our day but also for folk on their own. It’s something to do halfway through what could be a long day.
