A high street shop is being given a breath of fresh air as it opens up to give youngsters a new place to play.
Wee Beauties is the latest shop to open on the high street, occupying number 134, formerly Krafty Knits, with a bright new look and a fun new tenant.
Lisa Weeks, who calls herself ‘Head of Fun’, has run her business providing craft sessions making balloon animals and painting pots from home until now.
However, a spinal problem means she can’t lift and carry the boxes of supplies any longer, so she has set up shop in the town centre.
Something for the little ones
Lisa said she wanted to bring her business to the high street because there was nothing for little ones to do during the day.
She opened on 9 April, and is suitable for ages 4 to 11.
“Yesterday was our first workshop, and we made a balloon alien, a balloon dog and a heart wand. So the children took three balloon creations home with them,” she said.
“I love crafts. I have always loved doing crafts. So if I can get one kid involved in making, in crafting, then that would be great. I’m happy.
“I was going mobile to people’s homes to do pamper parties and craft parties, and literally just take the whole shop with me to somebody’s house and set up for a craft party, which I’ve had to give up.”
She explained Wee Beauties will offer five different parties to book and workshops will be posted on her Facebook page and in the window. She also provides balloons for all occasions.
“We have the pump party, a fairy party, a craft party, a bubbles, a balloons party, and an Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea party.
“We also offer walk-ins for craft making, doing colouring and painting and bits and pieces like that.”
Sessions are available as party bookings or walk-ins. Contact Lisa to find out more on 07562 917644 or go to ‘Wee Beauties‘ on Facebook.
