  1. Will you consider Units for Small Businesses But slightly larger Floor Plans ie For A local Sailmaker,
We are not a Big Branded company, in to high tech ,or lots of staff and multi million pound developments.
We are struggling to find a decent sized floor plan that can accommodate large Yacht Sails, and the space to train Young Apprentices, We have tried to reason with the local Council but they won’t consider thinking outside the Box , Would you ???

  4. I am in complete support of a lockdown. If you look at what has worked in New Zealand and Australia, I think the UK has made too many mistakes when, by now, if we had closed down hard and stopped travel at the beginning we would not be struggling with a third wave. Hopefully vaccines will help this Spring, in the meantime I hope everyone just stays home. Winter is a good time to hibernate, Gail Shaw in Findhorn

  5. There is no transparency in such an important decision which affects the public in such a personal way and ignores the requirements and capabilities of Moray’s major communities.
Putting Dial a bus and Stagecoach as the saviour’s of such a huge inconvenience to so many people is an insult to the infrastructure of these Communities both in personnel and suitable locations.

  18. I lived in Banaferry house all through the war and saw all the buildings in my neighbourhood being built. Also saw the different groups of airmen marching from their billets (which were dispersed near surrounding woods) to their meals in their mess. The officers mess was at the foot of our drive and the sergeants mess at the end of our garden. I could hear the whitleys taking off from the airfield and mother used to count them taking off and then returning, many crashes occurred and lives were lost. Being only 7 in 1941 it was impressed on my mind all the activities going on all around the area.

I wonder, are the young kids asking about the sexist tabloid headlines shown in newspaper stalls every day? Daily Star for example? Internet search engines? These complainers are the kind of people that would put a blanket over Michelangelo’s David.

I had never had a Sholey curry before but it had a lot of flavour and just the right amount of bite. Spicy but not too hot. My wife had the Passanda curry which was very creamer and sweet but not too sweet. We also had the Royal Mix for a starter which was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely go back.

    • Hi Pearl, a bank in Rochford, Essex trialled this idea in 2021. As far as I am aware, it is still open. Five banks took turns each on weekdays to provide their services. A great idea that would work everywhere.

  34. The tidal forces at work east of the huts have have been gradually removing the sand and shingle from that part of the coast for the last few years. It has taken about 5 years (perhaps longer) for these tidal forces, acting like a narrow focused penetrating wave, to remove the sand and shingle from near the beach road to getting close to the huts themselves. It is travelling like a very slow wave attempting to penetrate the seawall and going east to west (revealing the bottom of another set of the wooden steps there every year or two)
The Groynes in place near the beach huts may be able to divert these tidal forces away from the huts, if so they will survive that oncoming onslaught. But if the tidal forces are not diverted then they’ll wash away the sand and shingle from underneath the huts. No matter how strong the huts are they will not withstand having their foundations removed and tumbling into the sea. However, this will take a few years, if it happens at all.

The Architects have not only failed to grasp the implications of these unusual tidal forces they have failed to grasp the tidal forces within the, majority of the locals. Beach huts are normally an inclusive, local community activity; not a money orientated commercial development project which excludes many on the basis of their cost.

  41. PLEASE DON’T CLOSE THIS BANK!!!! I rely on it for regular in person deposits that require the service of a teller. If it closes, I will have to drive all the way to Elgin every few weeks in order to make these deposits, which are my main source of funds. I am of course not the only person who would be affected by this closure. We need a bank in Forres that we can walk into. This is a highly populated area.

  42. Now more than ever we need to encourage footfall in our town centre.
This could be the perfect time for a shared banks/financial hub in the secure premises that is the Bank of Scotland. I do not know of any shared financial hubs in the north of Scotland. Perhaps Bank of Scotland impending closure could have a stay of execution while this is considered or instigated?
The Post Office often won’t/cannot accommodate the needs of those who do not hold accounts with them.
I have not noticed any mention of provision of a mobile bank in Forres should this ill thought out totally disagreeable bank closure goes ahead.

  44. Besides all the reasons given not to close the Bank of Scotland another is that the building itself is an architectural gem and too many of the iconic building in the High street are standing empty. I changed to BOS because my bank closed down and am very upset that now the BOS which has a central position in the High street, is closing. Another empty space in a declining high street . Please rethink this unpopular decision!

  47. I think an enclosed fence around the perimeter of the park is required. It’s right next to one of the busiest roads in the town and lots of people walk up and down the path with their dogs which can make some people feel uneasy if their children are playing and a dog runs straight up to them

    Reply
    • Yes second this, having a child that likes to run off, it would be great to have the park enclosed for the younger kids.

  48. The teenagers in forres need something to do. A decent skate park would be a massive improvement for a large percentage of children and teens. My children also really enjoy a zip line, the one in mannachie has been broken for a long time. They also enjoy a roundabout that will take multiple children (not like the small metal bowl like ones that hold 1-2 children) a large slide, a good number of swings. We also really enjoy having the small trampolines that are built into the floor (like at nairn park). My children are all big climbers so any kind of climbing equipment would be given a big thumbs up from them. I also feel it is important to have inclusive equipment like a swing, round about and other play equipment, we tried out the playpark at bellfield Park in Inverness which has inclusive play equipment and there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of inclusive play equipment between Fochabers and Inverness which is a real shame. I also agree with previous comments made that an outdoor gym would be popular and a perimeter fence to ensure children’s safety would be extremely beneficial.

Here we have a kilted soldiers memorial but no kilted soldiers left to mourn for the fallen of 3 centuries in British service and for a thousand years for Scotland before that.
From 7 full time Scottish regiments in 1994 to 3 Battalions in one regiment in 2022.

  59. If this project must be built, then do it on a brown field site, not in the country side where the new residents will be cut off from the centre. Unless of course they are to be provided with smart legs as well. Development is development whether “net zero” or not. Profit will be made but the beneficiaries will not be local people. It hasn’t taken long for this communitarian model to have spread from the US. I suggest all involved with decision making read the book “Behind the Green” Mask by Rosa Koire. Parts of the publicity material for the project are almost word for word identical to examples given there.

  89. As far as I am concerned, this has to be a good thing. No tax or no SORN = no valid insurance. No insurance means that, like my son, when his car was written off by an uninsured and untaxed driver, he lost not only the car, but his job. So, YAY to the DVLA. The more that are caught the better. NO excuse whatsoever. I had a friend who boasted about no insurance or tax. I pointed out, if they were involved in a RTC who would pay the rest of life care if anyone had life changing injuries, including them. No reason for anyone, if they do, to moan about being caught whatsoever.

We have always put something in the contribution box, however a number of times last year we found there were no spaces available and had to leave. How are the barriers going to work, what happens if you pay to get in and then find there is no spaces, can you get your money back or do you end up paying £2 for nothing ?

It used to be a calm, safe haven to go and walk in the dunes. Now you can’t do that without a car being up your backside. The motor home park is an eyesore. I couldn’t even get into the loo to use it. I had to go to the Captain’s Table. Not everyone has access to contactless payment facilities!!!!! I can’t walk too far now although I have not put in for a Blue Badge. I don’t intend to spoil my outings once a year to Findhorn. As we travel 600 miles to get there!! I will be parking as near to the back shore as well can get. But won’t be paying.
