Cellist Edward Clark wins Rotary Young Musician award

Edward Clark won the Forres Rotary Young Musician of the Year competition last night with his outstanding performance of a classical tune on his cello.

The competition, run annually by the Forres Rotary Club hosted ten young musicians from Forres Academy.

Taking second prize was James Kennedy, who sang Alma Del Core, and third was Sam McPartlin on Classical guitar.

Other participants, who received a certificate for their performances, were: Ella Robertson (piano), Tegan Ashryver (voice), David Maclean (piano), Laura Sutherland (guitar), Euan Walker (piano), Mia Barrere (voice) and Jami Moat (guitar).

Rotarian Glenn Moore compered the event and said the standard of entries were astounding. The adjudicator was Helen Watson.
